Chikin-Drippin #17: The Missing Link

Well folks, i know it's been a while since the last post...quite a while in fact, but that changes today! I've been locked away in a subterranean dungeon, creating away...and in doing so i have discovered a Missing Link! This creature is the true bridge between dinosaurs, birds and... mosquitoes.

Chikin-Drippin # 16: Phat-Men Gemini

These stumpy creatures have been dubbed the Phat-Men. They do the bidding of the Chikin-Phat overlord with a bug eyed stare. They are 100% loyal....mostly because they have been programmed to be. This may be their first appearance but definitely not their last.

p.s. they will be printed on a limited number of t- shirts...so keep an eye out and check back soon.

Chikin-Drippin #14: Steed of the Primary

Yet another 10 minute acrylic sketch using only primary colors...I'm really having a good time doing these...i think its all leading to something big...dunno what though...

Chikin-Drippin #13: Meester Tophat

Did this one during a break from work. I'm still having fun with these quick acrylic sketches...just throwing paint around on a small piece of rag paper...yay paint

Chikin-Drippin #12: Sketchy Time at the Zoo

So this is an old one, but still one of my favorites. I was at a zoo in Tokyo, and for some reason I was drawn to the Indian Star Tortoise and decided to sketch one with magenta and turquoise brush-pens and spit/water.

Chikin-Drippin #10: ...It's Maddening

This is a sketch of the Mad Hatter i found in a folder of old drawings today...i rather like the energy and have a fondness of the character, so i decided to post it. Yes, this was drawn before Burton's awful abomination of a movie hit theaters earlier this year.... Anywho, this is my version of the Hatter.

Chikin-Drippin # 9: ....ssionism

Its been a while since my last post... my bad... but this here is just a quick experiment using acrylic and ink on a 4x6 watercolor card. I've decided i need to paint more...

Chikin-Drippin' #8: Morning Sketch

Just an early morning doodle after a very interesting and introspective night. Done with crow quill and ink.

Chikin-Drippin' #7: Ursus Shirtus

This is another screen-printed t-shirt dsign. This one is a cosmic entity of opposites and unity. As with the shirt in the last post, this one is available for sale...if you should desire one, email me at Aaronhollander5@gmail.com with your size and mailing address.

Chikin-Drippin #6: T-Shirt Cavalry

This image is actually screen-printed on a black t-shirt. It was my first design that i decided to print, and is still available. The creature is part of an inter-dimensional army, in which it serves as a scouting cavalry unit, heralding the oncoming invasion....be on the lookout for the second wave of creatures that will inevitably appear from the warp, and onto t-shirts.

Youth Poetry Slam Poster

This was done as poster for the Youth Poetry Slam as a part of the 6th Annual Savannah Spoken-Word Festival. I had a lot of fun doing this one, and if you happen to be in Savannah, GA between April 30th and May 2nd you should stop by the Sentient Bean and check it out!

Poster: Savannah Spoken-Word Festival

This image was done as a poster for the 6th Annual Savannah Spoken-Word Festival. Sadly, I changed the design and this was not used, but i decided to post it anyways.

Spoken-Word T-Shirt

This lil' creature was done as a t-shirt design for the 6th Annual Savannah Spoken-Word Festival.

Chikin-Drippin #5: Old WTA Show Poster

This one is rather old but i chose to put it up anyways as Chikin-Drippin #5. It was done for the band Winner Takes All a couple of years back.

Chikin-Drippin #4

This is another sketch i did at a friend's house, this time with a blue Bic pen. Strange though it may seem, i saw this image in one of the metal ducts in his basement (i guess the light must have been hitting it just right...or something). I am currently in the process of digitally coloring this one, so check back soon to see the finished product!

"The Field Trip"

Just finished inking this one today. This is one of a few concepts for a story I'm currently working on. These characters will be popping up again, along with many others from their world.

Chikin Drippin #3: Ink at the Ballroom

Random ink splotches that somehow turned into a lady in frilly costume... very well then, Chikin Drippin #3 it is!

Chikin-Drippin #2: Shamanimunication

So this is a marker doodle i apparently did on my friend's couch....I personally don't recall the event, but i am fond of this dude for some reason. I think hes a mystic or a shaman of sorts... not quite sure though... anywho, it's Chikin Drippin' #2.

WRITE ON MAN (colored version)

So i added some flat color to the show poster... note to self: invest in a Wacom tablet, using a mouse to color is not as fun as it seems...

WRITE ON MAN

It's been a while since my last post, but the gears never stopped moving. So this is a show poster i just finished for my good friend Taylor Locke. Hes putting together this awesome show in Savannah, Georgia for his senior thesis called WRITE ON MAN. Its gonna be at The Indigo Arts Center on March 4th and 5th featuring great live music, spoken word and live painting. Trust me when i tell you, if your in Savannah, you shouldn't miss this.

This is the black and white inked version, but the colored is soon to come.

Chikin Drippin #1: Early Bird

So here is a recent piece of mine. This one was done for my parents as a gift for the holidays. It is the first of a series of watercolor/ink animal studies i've been doing and seemed like the perfect image to become the very first Chikin-Drippin.

Ahoy!

Welcome to the Chikin-Fat blog! This cozy lil' nook in the web will be the home of my artwork until I get a snazzy website up and running. In the meantime, be on the lookout for frequent updates concerning comics, screen printed t-shirts and visual journal entries (a.k.a Chikin-Drippins).

So "CHEERS" I say, as I ask you to walk with me on an infinite road of creation.... a road immersed in CHIKIN-FAT!
